Stuck Chair by Oato Design Studio

Concept behind the Stuck chair is simple. Taking apart the components of an archetypical chair, Oato design studio wanted to create a seating object in which the structural elements appear as if they have simply been stuck together. Constructed from oak with a powder-coated steel backrest – so that it won’t loose shape when force is applied -the legs are arranged in an ‘X’ formation, connecting upwards through the seat to hold the metal element in place in such a way that the chair rests requiring no additional supports – thus the individual parts have their own role in the overall function and stability of the design.
