is situated on the waterfront in the commercial and technology precinct of Pyrmont in Sydney, Australia. The local business community has rallied together to deliver a temporary park overlay with the goal of creating a far more usable and inspired park experience to encourage greater use by the surrounding communities. The existing park is a hidden gem with one of the best views in Sydney, but with no facilities or program beyond its open grass area.
To encourage more people to stay, exercise and play, designed the pop-up park to accommodate the user needs and desires including; multiple fixed seating opportunities, movable deck chairs, mature large trees, ping pong tables, garden patches, and solar harvesting umbrellas with Wi-Fi connection and power outlets to promote working externally. This summer park has been designed with a view to promote wellness and a better appreciation of the benefits of urban green space. Photography: Florian Groehn
