designed the new Private Medical Practice of an exceptional and highly experienced fertility doctor, Christina Ioakeimidou. The core idea of the design brief was to create a fresh and welcoming space for visiting patients, where they should feel relaxed and calm. At the same time, the doctor’s personality and expertise should be reflected all through the practice. Green and white were the chosen colours to accomplish that.
The empty apartment to accommodate the “Fertility Tree” Private Medical Practice originally had two rooms, one of which was , while the other one was designed in such a way as to accommodate the examining area with all the necessary medical equipment. A flexible and expandable changing area was also integrated in the examining room, created by pulling a curtain.
An actual tree in the heart of the open plan central area of the practice is the core element of the overall space and of the Medical Practice, as it symbolizes fertility and life. The waiting area and the reception point are formed around the tree. In addition to that, a grand green glass partition wall separates the central space of the reception and waiting areas from the examining room, offering privacy when transferring from the doctor’s office to the latter.
Square Design Interiors designed the “Fertility Tree” from concept to completion, including spatial design, the lighting, the bespoke design of the pieces of furniture and fixtures of the waiting area and the reception point.
In addition to that, the Square Design Interiors team designed the wall images of the tree branches displaying a few of the babies delivered by the doctor, either from spontaneous conceptions, or created with assisted reproduction techniques, as well as the adaptation of the logo of the practice imposing at the back of the reception point. The interior architecture practice of Square Design Interiors is based in London and takes on healthcare, retail and residential interior design projects internationally.
